About the project
  • A dynamic upsell card component designed to live in all CanadianTire.ca product detail pages

  • This project took 3 weeks to design

My role
  • I led the user experience design, component design & documentation

  • I collaborated with a Product Owner, 3 developers, accessibility lead and a design system lead

🔑 Factors for success
  • Understood the business reasoning for this promotion in eCommerce PDP

  • Discovered loyalty members pain points and misunderstandings

  • Collaborated with the team till component launch and did front end QA

Situation
  • Research showed loyalty members were not aware of which card can redeem them the most rewards

  • There was no automated way to show the redeeming CT Money in PDP

  • We found out that many customers miss out on activating offers

Opportunities
  • Present the right card to the right customer and upsell based on purchasing their habits

  • Automatically and dynamically do the math for the customers to show how many CT money they can collect per product

  • Create an entry point to view relevant offers available for loyalty members

Research
  • Collaborated with research team to understand the past research & run a qualitative study through usertesting.com

  • Utilized existing personas and research

  • We did another qualitative study to test design concepts and see if users noticed the new component, it’s comprehension, and check if they would take action

Conceptualization
  • Designed the component to match Northern Light UI

  • Added Triangle branding to the component to clearly communicate this is a Triangle loyalty

  • Collaborated with PDP team to work on the IA of this loyalty components placement within the PDP

  • Weekly presentation and reviews with eCommerce design team, Triangle PM & Associate Vice President
